About Us

We started Why Vinyl quite simply out of a love of music.  From our humble beginnings selling at local record fairs with my son (and we still do), to creating whyvinyl.com and opening a small store in the Midlands.  Rediscovering a love of vinyl records after buying a kickstarter backed release of Pitchshifter's live in Japan.  The artwork, the look and feel of that coloured vinyl record, the physical copy of music that I could enjoy uncompressed.  All before I had even bought a turntable to play it on.  Our hope is that we can help you discover the vinyl records that you enjoy.  We specialise in limited edition, coloured and special edition vinyl records, all new and sealed.  Like any good DJ we also take requests, so if there is something you would like to pre-order or see if we can stock for you, just get in touch with us at sales@whyvinyl.com.  We can't promise to have everything, but we can try.
