Originally released in 1998, Obsolete is the third studio album by American industrial metal pioneers Fear Factory.

Pressed on marbled clear & black heavyweight vinyl by the audio masters at Music On Vinyl, this limited numbered Audiophile edition comes with a 4 page booklet.

Co-produced by the band with Greg Reely and Rhys Fulber, the latter also contributing all keyboard arrangements and performances, the record marked Fear Factory's first fully realised concept album. The dystopian narrative, written by vocalist Burton C. Bell and titled Conception 5, is set in the year 2076, depicting a future where machines dominate mankind. Musically, the band expanded their sonic palette, blending crushing riffs with atmospheric electronics to create a sound that propelled them into the mainstream. Obsolete remains Fear Factory's best-selling album and features standout tracks including "Shock," "Edgecrusher," "Descent," and "Resurrection."
