Stone Temple Pilots are an American rock band from San Diego, California, formed in 1986. The band consists of Scott Weiland (vocals), Dean DeLeo (guitar), Robert DeLeo (bass) and Eric Kretz (drums). They are considered pioneers of the grunge movement, although their musical style has evolved over the years. The band's first album, Core, was released in 1992 and became a commercial success, selling over 8 million copies in the United States. Stone Temple Pilots went on to release four more studio albums, including their most recent Stone Temple Pilots (2018).
